Homes don’t hold on to us. They hold our stories.

This week, my wife and I are handing over the keys to Casablue—the home that held our life for so many years.

Casablue was never just a house.

It was our son growing up, his little feet racing down the hallway, setting up train sets throughout the whole first floor, waking up to his piano playing.

It was porch nights with friends, backyard campfires, community movie nights under the stars. It was our parents visiting, cousins passing through, unexpected guests becoming family. Una vida compartida.

We’ve had a second home in Michigan for many years—and now, it becomes our primary one. As Casablue turns the page, it welcomes a new family.

We met the buyer this week. He’s from Mexico. He and his wife have a growing family. As we stood together, I remembered having my own baby boy strapped to my back in a bjorn, putting up our same porch screens. I imagine this new dad doing something similar… maybe even as soon as they move in. They screens are ready for the spring, summer, and fall.

That vision brought peace.

Not closure—just continuation.

It’s time for new memories to be made at Casablue. And we’re deeply grateful it’s going to someone who will honor the space, just as we did.

Gracias, Casablue.

You gave us more than shelter. You gave us a life.

The porch lights stay on, even after you leave.

What about you? What’s your latest or upcoming milestone in life?
