Witness

If you are the one people count on, you probably know this feeling.
You make decisions, answer questions, keep things moving, watch the numbers, think about the people depending on you, and carry responsibilities that do not always fit neatly into a calendar, a spreadsheet, or a meeting. From the outside, it can look like confidence. Much of the time, it is.
But sometimes the deeper need is not another answer, another plan, or one more person telling you what they would do if they were in your shoes. Sometimes what you need is a clear, steady conversation with someone who can sit with the whole thing without judging it, rushing it, or putting lipstick on it.
Because sometimes what looks like loneliness is not only loneliness. Sometimes it is the very human need to be seen clearly while you are carrying complexity: the business, the family, the money, the decisions, the people you love, the people you lead, the expectations you inherited, the future you are trying to build, and the private question of whether you are doing right by your responsibilities without losing yourself in them.
That is what I mean by a witness. Not someone who simply listens and nods. Someone who can actually listen and acknowledge all the fucking shit you are getting through and still doing. Someone who helps you slow the room down, hear what is true, separate pressure from obligation, and return to your decisions with a little more clarity.
A good witness does not make you smaller. A good witness helps you come back to yourself. They help you remember that you do not have to perform certainty every minute just because people trust you to lead.
That kind of partnership matters, not because you are weak, but because you are human. Even strong people need a place where they do not have to carry everything alone for a moment.
Sometimes leadership does not need more noise. It needs a clearer room to hear yourself again.
