I was on a call with local, civic leaders last week. During the opening remarks the facilitator shared that said she’d be happy if she never heard the word “pivot” again.
Everyone released a collective laugh and agreed.
She added, “We’ve all pivoted enough throughout 2020.”
We all readily agreed.
Today, I am retiring the word “pivot” from my vocabulary.
Until I come up with something better I’ll say “step forward”, instead, as in, “We ‘stepped forward’ when Maria offered a more optimal solution.”, or “We all needed to ‘step forward’ based on the facts presented”.
How about you? Do you need to step forward on anything this year?
