I don’t remember when I started saying this to friends, acquaintances and family. It was usually when we were saying our goodbyes after talking about an uphill struggle that was worth pursuing.
“Chin up” meaning, hang in there, keep positive and....it’s worth it.
“Head Down” meaning, stay focused, it's gonna be hard and....it’s worth it.
Today, at the end of a call with a colleague about a drawn out project, I added it to my goodbye. She responded with “and, Wear a Mask.”
We both laughed out loud about the add-on--our abnormal, new normal captured in those few words.
“And, Wear a Mask” meaning, be safe in our abnormal, new normal and....it's worth it.
Folks, we are going to get through this. Cooler and reasonable heads must prevail at all levels of interaction, communities and leadership.
Keep in mind, the pendulum swings in all things.
We choose to be part of the momentum, in our own unique ways, towards hanging in there, keeping positive, staying focused through the hardships, being safe and adjusting.
Because it's worth it.
