Roberto never planned to be a retired Teamster from local 710 after 25 years of honest, hard work. And Eva never planned to also retire in as many years after being a teacher’s aide in the Chicago Public School System.

Robert began his journey tending a plow at the age of eight on his father’s acres at el rancho, La Granada, in Guanajuato, Mexico. Eva began her journey at the age of twelve tending to customers in her father’s small store in Apaseo el Alto, a few miles from Roberto.

They both never made it past sixth grade but became scholars from life, living, and 64 years of marriage.

They use their collective 17 decades of experience to love their children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Read more about them by hearing more about the stories of your parents and fellow Hispanic heroes.
